Carolyn “Care” Emberley is a lifelong artist, maker, and educator in the Boston area. Her passions include sewing, woodworking, photography, and oil painting.

Carolyn is an instructor in woodworking and sewing at one of the largest maker spaces in the country, Artisan’s Asylum, in Somerville, MA. Previously, she taught several crafts at the Craft Center at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Her teaching experience spans 11 years and over 10 different media. She currently offers private lessons in sewing, woodworking, drawing, and painting.

In the spring of 2013, Carolyn took a 3 month photography sabbatical driving across the US, spending significant time in the southwest. You can follow her journey and see some of her photos through her travel blog.

Carolyn is currently booking weddings and portrait sessions for the summer and fall through her photography business, Carolyn Emberley Photography.
